## Selfie Quest in the City of Angels: Snapping Your Way Through 6 Epic Days in Ban

One of the top spots in Bangkok for iconic travel photos is Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn. This Buddhist temple is over 200 years old and features a central prang (tower) that stands over 200 feet tall. It's made even more striking by the fact that it sits directly on the Chao Phraya River, with views across to the Grand Palace.

The temple is absolutely picture-perfect, especially if you can time your visit for sunset. The glistening tiles on the prang reflect the fading light, making for unbeatable photo backdrops. Position yourself on the opposite riverbank with a zoom lens to capture the temple towers rising above the water. Or climb the stairs to various levels of the prang itself for shots looking down the river.

Another top spot is on the terrace at the front of the temple, where rows of Buddha statues make for great selfies or group shots. Kneel down in front to get the whole temple reflected in the mosaic tiles. You can also get artsy close-ups of the intricate tile and stucco work.

For something different, grab a river taxi and shoot Wat Arun from the water. A low perspective with the river in the foreground highlights the height and grandeur of the temple. You can combine this with a shot of river life - a passing water taxi or monitor lizards sunning on the concrete embankment.
